Taste and Odor Worskhop

The RMSAWWA Water Treatment Committee is offering a Taste and Odor workshop on October 20, 2010 at Colorado State University in Fort Collins from 9:00 am to 4:00 p.m.  Participants will learn the basics of taste and odor treatment; the latest testing methods including calibrating a testing panel; identification of troublesome taste and odor causing algae through microscopy; and hear how two facilities handled their taste and odor issues.

Training intended for:
  • Water industry operators of all levels
  • Facility manager
  • Engineers
  • Interested support staff

Topics include:

  • Taste and Odor testing procedures and calibrating a taste panel using reference standards
  • Algae Identification using photos from microscopic analysis
  • Treatment Options highlighting two case studies
TUs - 0.6 water, wastewater, and industrial operator training units have been awarded for this workshop.
Breakfast type snacks, coffee, lunch and door prizes will be available
